Privacy Policy

Who we are
Nexus Insurance ("we", "our", "Nexus") is a brand of Nexus Colpro LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. We are a bilingual ACA help service that connects US residents with US-licensed insurance agents in their state. We are not an insurance company. We do not sell or issue policies. All advice, quoting, and enrollment is performed by independent licensed agents. We help with plans available through the federal and state Health Insurance Marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). For privacy questions, write to contact@mynexusinsurance.com.
What we collect
- Contact information you provide: name, phone, email, ZIP code, state, age, household size, and rough income range — collected through our lead forms and follow-up conversations.
- Application information: if you choose to enroll, additional data required by HealthCare.gov or a state Marketplace (Social Security Number, immigration status documents, household income detail). This information is transmitted directly to the Marketplace and is not stored in our marketing databases.
- Site analytics: standard analytics (page views, referrers, anonymized IP, device class) via privacy-friendly tooling. We do not use surveillance pixels.
- Communications: records of phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails between you and our agents, retained for licensing compliance and quality assurance.
How we use it
- To return your call or message and provide a quote.
- To compare plans across the carriers our partner agents are appointed with in your state.
- To submit your Marketplace application, when you authorize us to do so.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and licensing-board obligations.
- To improve our service. We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined under California Civil Code §1798.140(ad) and (ah), and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out request under California Civil Code §1798.135 and Colorado Privacy Act §6-1-1306(1)(a)(IV).
Phone, text, and WhatsApp consent (TCPA)
Express written consent to receive autodialed, prerecorded, or AI-voice calls and text messages from Nexus Insurance and its allied licensed agent partners is captured only via the explicit, checkbox-based authorization on our lead form. Sharing your number by other means (e.g., calling us first) constitutes consent only for the manually-dialed return of that specific call, not for marketing campaigns. Standard message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You may revoke consent for any channel at any time by replying STOP to any SMS, by saying "stop calling" on any call, or by emailing privacy@mynexusinsurance.com; we will honor revocation across all channels within 10 business days.
Calls occur only between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in the called party's local time. We maintain an internal Do-Not-Call list. You may request a copy of our written DNC policy by emailing privacy@mynexusinsurance.com; honored requests stay on the internal list for 5 years. We scrub against the National Do Not Call Registry before each campaign.
HealthCare.gov confidentiality
Per Section 1411(g) of the Affordable Care Act, information you submit through a Marketplace application — including the immigration status of household members — is treated as confidential. Section 1411(g) protects this information once it is inside the Marketplace system. The information you share with us before the Marketplace application is governed by this Privacy Policy and ordinary state and federal privacy law; it may be compelled by valid subpoena.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to deliver the service you requested:
- With independent US-licensed insurance agents in your state, who do the actual quoting and enrollment.
- With insurance carriers when an agent runs a quote or submits an application on your behalf.
- With HealthCare.gov, a state Marketplace, or CMS as part of the enrollment process.
- With service providers under contract (CRM such as GoHighLevel, telephony such as Twilio, email, WhatsApp) bound by confidentiality terms.
- When required by law, valid subpoena, or licensing-board audit.
International data processing
Our customer service team and CRM operations may be performed by personnel and service providers located outside the United States, including in Colombia. By submitting your information through this site or speaking with our team, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than your country of residence. Our agreements with service providers (including GoHighLevel and Twilio) restrict use of your information to providing services to us and prohibit selling, sharing, or retaining personal information for any other purpose, consistent with the "service provider" obligations under California Civil Code §1798.140(ag) and analogous "processor" requirements under Colorado, Virginia, Texas, and Florida law. International transfers to Colombia are made under processor agreements that impose equivalent protections.
Your rights
Subject to applicable state privacy law and retention requirements imposed by carriers, the Marketplace, and law, you have the following rights:
- Right to know: what personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to access: a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correct: inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete: personal information we have collected from you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share, but the right exists.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: see the "Sensitive personal information" section below.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email privacy@mynexusinsurance.com or call (888) 360-4111. We may ask you to confirm the phone number or email on file to verify the request. We will respond within 45 days; if more time is needed, we will notify you and may extend by an additional 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email within 60 days; we will respond to the appeal within 45 days.
Sensitive personal information
We collect Social Security number and detailed income information only when you authorize us to submit a Marketplace application. We use this sensitive personal information solely to perform the service you requested (i.e., to estimate subsidies and submit your application to HealthCare.gov or a state Marketplace). We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because our use is limited to performing the service you requested, the California Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information under CPRA does not separately apply.
Security and retention
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Retention by category:
- Marketing contact information (name, phone, email): up to 7 years after the last interaction for licensing-board audit purposes.
- Sensitive personal information (Social Security number, immigration documents): not stored in our marketing systems; transmitted directly to the Marketplace during enrollment.
- Call recordings: retained for quality assurance, then deleted under our recording-retention policy.
If we discover unauthorized acquisition of unencrypted personal information we maintain, we will notify affected individuals and relevant state authorities in accordance with applicable state breach notification laws (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.82, Tex. Bus. & Com. Code §521.053, Fla. Stat. §501.171, Colo. Rev. Stat. §6-1-716, Va. Code §18.2-186.6).
Automated decision-making
We do not currently use automated decision-making technology to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the access and opt-out rights required under California Civil Code §1798.185(a)(16) (CCPA ADMT regulations, 11 CCR §7220-7222) and Colorado Privacy Act §6-1-1306(1)(a)(III).
Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. We do collect information about children as household members for the purpose of enrolling a family in a Marketplace plan, with the consenting parent or guardian acting on their behalf.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, in a notice on this page.
